BARPOINT MOBILE AS – CODE OF CONDUCT
This document lays out the Code of Conduct policy of Barpoint Mobile AS (hereafter Barpoint). The document is a work in progress. Further topics will be addressed and added to this document in near future.
GENERAL PRACTICES
Routinely, before entering new cooperative arrangements, entering a new market, or launching new kinds of deliverables, we ensure that our intended actions will comply with our policies as stated in this Code of Conduct document, including on the topics of:
- Human rights
- Combating bribery
- Competition practices
When, and as, we see the need we implement preventive measures.
HUMAN RIGHTS
Our human rights policy commits us to respect human rights, including trade union rights. Harsh or inhumane treatment of any kind is not accepted.
Barpoint operates in accordance with Norwegian Law, conforming to the human rights regulations therein. Any employee or hired personnel will be treated in accordance with Norwegian Law and in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by United Nations.
In business relationships we seek to prevent human rights violations directly linked to our business operations. Prior to the engagement of any new supplier, we will assess human rights implications.
Should we be made aware of that we are contributing to human rights violations, we will take steps to mitigate the situation. Should we be made aware of a risk of causing human rights violations, we seek to mitigate that risk. Identified risks shall be prioritized according to severity. Should we be made aware of severe breaches of human rights from a business partner beyond our involvement with that business, we will apply (reasonable) influence we may have to improve the situation.
If stakeholders or others bring forward information about adverse practices with respect to human rights related to our company, they will not be punished.
Our human rights policies, as stated in this document, are communicated as part of our Terms of Service going forward. They also represent our expectations for human rights standards of our business partners.
EMPLOYMENT
Barpoint has established a separate document titled “Barpoint Mobile AS Employment Policy” (in Norwegian). The document sets out Barpoint’s employment policy, including our respect for trade union rights, regulated wages and no-tolerance for forced labour, child labour and discrimination at work.
These policies also represent our expectations for employment standards of our business partners.
COMBATING BRIBERY
Barpoint has established a separate document titled “Barpoint Mobile AS Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy” which sets out our policies against bribery and corruption in detail. Some key points of our policy are here included:
We are committed to fight bribery, corruption and facilitation fees. We encourage all our business partners to make a clear commitment against bribery, corruption and facilitation fees.
We are familiar with the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and committed to follow its policies. We will not make illegal contributions to candidates for public office, political parties or other political organisations.
All payments and financial transaction of any significance will always be accurately recorded in our financial records. When using agents, we conduct a background due diligence check before assignments. We ensure that remuneration is appropriate and for legitimate services only.
COMPETITION PRACTICES
We respect and adhere to the laws and regulations of competition in the countries in which we operate.
Routinely, before entering new cooperative arrangements, entering a new market, or launching new kinds of deliverables, we ensure that our intended actions will comply with our policies and with applicable competition laws and regulations.
